Weekend Chat: I didn’t quit Chaterhouse because of Joy FM – George Quaye

Famed actor and award-winning radio and tv host, George Quaye known by many as “Abaogye” has opened up in an exclusive chat with your authoritative on his reasons for leaving Charterhouse for the studios of Joy FM. According to him, joining the Multimedia Group was not the reason why he left the event management company, after his long service and rising to the enviable position of a Communication Director.

Featuring in this week’s edition of Weekend Chat, George Quaye made it known that the main motivation for leaving Charterhouse was for him to set up his own business venture.

“I didn’t quit Charterhouse because of Joy FM”

“I left because after 14 years, I thought it was time to try something new. I left to open and manage my own Communications, Events, Audio Visuals and PR Agency, Image Bureau”, he revealed.

George Quaye earned nation-wide popularity for his performances in the hugely successful TV Series in the late 1990s “Taxi Driver”. He joined Charterhouse in February 2006 and left briefly in August 2019 when he joined Gold dealership company, MenzGold. He, however, rejoined Charterhouse in November 2019 until he quit again in January 2020. Between 2012 and 2018, he was with the EIB Network where he hosted the Morning Zoo on Starr FM and the popular entertainment talk show, the Pundit on GhOne TV.

George Quaye now hosts the Late Night Express

At Joy FM, George Quaye currently hosts the Late Night Express and he is also the sit-in host for Showbiz A to Z. And he says he loves it on radio and at Joy FM.

“I have always loved Radio and TV. It gives me an opportunity to connect with the world and share my thoughts on a number of topics while entertaining, informing, educating and most importantly, inspiring”

“So when the opportunity to have my own show on Joy FM was presented to me, I didn’t hesitate at all. Joy FM is a station I have loved and respected since childhood”, George solemnly concluded.

Used to be called the Joy Slow Jam, the Late Night Express comes on from Monday to Wednesday between 10 pm and 12 midnight.
