Citi FM and Citi Tv’s award winning anchor and host, Umaru Sanda Amadu says it is very difficult for people who are arrogant and think too highly of themselves to etch a successful career with the Adabraka-based media conglomerate.
In an exclusive chat with your authoritative myghairwaves.com over the weekend, the witty broadcaster empathized that particular attribute as what makes him love working at Citi FM / Citi TV.
“The humanity and humility of the people here. The environment will beat the arrogance in you and make you know you’re just human. Not a god”
“When you meet the CEO sharing jokes and laughing with the stewards in the kitchen, then you know you are a nobody so you either fall in line or fall out” Umaru noted.
Umaru Sanda Amadu joined Citi Fm in 2010 and has since worked his way up to be hosting one of the Station’s flagship programmes, Eye Witness News, a very popular early evening news programme. And he thinks Citi Fm/ Citi Tv appreciates and rewards competence, over any other personal consideration.
“It is at Citi that your competence comes first before your age or longevity. Everyone. And I mean everyone, is given a chance to show their worth and collectively helped to grow….”
“I don’t mean there is no competition. There is. But brand Citi is the ultimate winner every day”, he concluded.
Umaru Sanda Amadu’s reputation has been soaring over the years. In 2017, he was adjudged the Best Reporter in SDGs Reporting by the Ghana Journalists Association. He had previously won the WASH Media Awards in Sweden.
And in 2018, he was selected by the US Embassy in Accra as an International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) fellow where he joined about 50 other journalists from around the globe on a 3-week training in the United States of America.
